News : Work begins on pavilion; group continues preparing historical river display

Concrete footings outline the shape of the structure that will soon house the river display.

The concrete footings outline the shape of the pavilion that will soon house the Cedar River historical display at Celebration Park. Crews poured the concrete this week.

The informal group of volunteers and river enthusiasts continues to meet to share what the members have learned about the history of the river. Their goal is to create a metal relief map showing the names and locations of some of the river's places.

The group continues to work on fund-raising; so far, contributors have dontated at least $32,500.
