News : Thanks to all who made RAGBRAI ride-through a success in Vinton

It’s been one week since RAGBRAI rolled through Vinton and still can’t thank our volunteers enough! We have heard extremely positive comments about our community and I know this may not have been the result if we didn’t have such dedicated members of the community!

I hope I am not forgetting anybody but THANK YOU to

· John’s Qwik Stop & Casey’s for the donations to the entertainment committee

· Dan Engledow for designing the billboard on 4th Street

· Kromminga Motors for the use of tractors for our bike parking

· Custom Millwork & Finishing for building 2 jumbo Jenga sets

· Virginia Gay Hospital for providing a first aid tent

· Vinton Fire Department for allowing us to park one of their beautiful fire trucks downtown

· Vinton Street Department for placing barricades and helping direct traffic throughout the day

· Vinton Water Department for giving us water access downtown

· Vinton Municipal Electric Utilities for helping provide electrical hookup for our food vendors

· Vinton Police Department for helping direct traffic

· The Vinton Shellsburg cheerleaders for helping welcome riders into the community

· Everybody who attended our numerous planning meetings

· Our committee chairs who helped make sure everything was in order

· Our local food vendors who helped served 10,000+ hungry riders!

· And our 100+ volunteers who helped on July 23!

We could not have asked for a better day! THANK YOU!
