Fire destroys Vinton home; cause undetermined

The family living in this house escaped but was left homeless after an overnight fire.

The house at 508 10th Ave was engulfed when firefighters arrived for the second time in two days.

Vinton Fire Chief Gary McKenna said authorities are still investigating a house fire at 508 10th Street in Vinton that took place overnight.

"The house is a total loss," said McKenna.

Real estate records indicate that the house is owned by LC properties, LLC., the company is owned byLeslie and Cory McKibben.

No injuries were reported; the family including two children escaped but was left homeless.

The fire department was originally sent to the scene on Sunday morning. Another fire call went after midnight Monday morning.

I just wanted to say thank you to ourlocal fire dept for their hard work on Sun. and their continued hard work today in the heat. we Appreciate you all and every thing yo have done and continue to do and we can not thank you enough.
