News : VS Post Prom Committee needs six more volunteers to usher Oct. 31 Iowa game

The Vinton-Shellsburg Post Prom Committee has earned several thousand dollars by arranging volunteers to serve as ushers at home U of Iowa football games.

While most of the slots have been filled, the group still needs six volunteers for the Oct. 31 game vs. Maryland.

The volunteers will work with Whelan Security.

Those who volunteer must complete a form and authorized Whelan to do a background check. During the game, the volunteers are required to wear white Tshirts, black pants (no jeans) and black shoes. Volunteers must arrive four hours before kickoff.

Because it takes two weeks to conduct a background check, volunteers must sign up by Saturday, Oct. 17.
