Several members of the St. Mary's Cluster Catholic youth groups in Vinton, Urbana and Walker gathered at the Maue home north of Center Point to help Aaron Maue and his family begin setting up for the huge computerized Christmas display known as Blue Creek Christmas.

The teens are preparing for the NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) in Indiana next month, and they offered a few hours of volunteer labor in exchange for a donation toward their trip. They gathered at the Maue home on the corner of Fee Street and Blue Creek Court, where they helped string lights on several evergreen trees in the family's yard.

Aaron Maue, with help from a children, spends several weekends each autumn setting up the display, which uses pixel lights and computer animation accompanied by a variety of Christmas songs. Maue's daughters Abby, Faith and Sydney help with programming music and lighting, while the youngest sibling, Gabe, helps with set up and other duties.

Each year, the show is new, and includes serious songs about Christmas faith, something for children, fun songs and tributes to soldiers and veterans. The pixel lights can match any color and combine to make a variety of images and designs.
