News : VS FFA, NHS students continue holiday lighting, roping tradition

On November 14th, 2015 the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter members worked with the NHS for the GoVS (Generating Opportunities for Viking Scholarships, a group which sponsors the lights and roping fundraiser to raise money for local scholarships) to decorate the town with lights and roping. Members of each organization were split up into smaller groups to divide and concur the many businesses that wanted lights and wreaths up around the doors.

This year many members went out and hung up the wreath and bows though down town Vinton as well as at the hospital, Lutheran Home, and local restaurants and gas stations. It was a time well spent for the members, getting more involved in the community and supporting the Go VS organization, which is raising money for local scholarships.
