With the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Fruit Sales finally getting wrapped up, from delivering fruit and collecting the rest of the money, the final amount of money raised is $32,013!

The month of November was filled with getting customer orders in and trying to reach as much people as possible in such a short time, because the next month, on the 15th, the two delivery trucks arrived at the high school with boxes upon boxes of fruit, sausage, nuts, and cheeses. The students spent the day unloading the trucks and unpacking all of the boxes so that they had the correct amount of everything. Throughout the day, members would stop in and gather all of the fruit that people ordered from them so that they can pick it up and deliver it that night.

It was a very busy day and night for many members, but in the end it was very successful. This year the freshmen class sold $11,363.25, the sophomore class sold $5,167.25, the juniors brought in $4885.25, and the seniors were able to sell $10,597.25 worth of fruit, bring the chapter to the total of $32,013.

The students in the $500 club include:

Freshmen: Grant Ries ($898.50), and Riley Schneider ($865.75)

Sophomores: Colton Evans ($572.25), and Madeline Moen ($712.25)

Juniors: Alina Armstrong ($624.50), Ben Eden ($632.25), Cassie Kenney ($825.50), and Drew Wiley ($753.25)

Seniors: Katie Isbell ($755.50), Daisy Johnson ($841.75), Emily Reisch ($986.00), Olivia Walker ($707.00), and Sydney Walker ($750.25)

The students who sold over $1,000 include:

Freshmen: Kyler Haedike ($1,044.50), Eric Henkle ($2,185.50), Shelby McDonald ($1,338.50), and Brock Ortner ($2,615.00)

Sophomores: Jakob Long ($1,396.25), and Wes Haefner ($1,075.50)

Juniors: Brittany Hansen ($1,001.25)

Seniors: Jessica Alderson ($1,372.25), Cole Emrich ($1,405.75), Abby Price ($1,491.75), and Keri Webster ($1,749.25)

All of their hard work really paid off. On January 23rd, the FFA members had a holiday party, celebrating the end of the year and the achievements of the sales. The members went bowling and had pizza at Pizza Ranch, paid by the Chapter because of the great outcome in the FFA Fruit Sales. It was a great time and everyone had a lot of fun!
