BL May 10, 2016, 1:44 pm The town where I grew up is the same size as Vinton. They built a community wellness center and added classrooms for the local community college, a senior center, walking track, weights, basketball court, video game room, meeting rooms and more. Residents pay a daily, monthly, or yearly membership. The place is full, all. the. time. With all ages. It has been a wonderful addition to the community. I can\'t wait for Vinton to build the same thing here!
RR May 11, 2016, 1:26 pm I think we all ready have those things. Rec Center, Skating Rink, miniature golf, Softball, Little League, Bowling, Syze Wellness Studio, swimming pool, etc. Why do we need something else to take money away from the places we have now.
MS May 11, 2016, 1:48 pm I would like to see better use out of the Rec. CTR. There\'s no enough people to run programs there, how would it be maintained. Volunteers only?
CTf May 11, 2016, 2:16 pm I think the mentioned experiences could be incorporated into the current rec center with some upgrades
AK May 14, 2016, 3:02 pm We already have a wonderful Vinton Parks and Recreation Department..let\'s invest the money into the VPRD and improve and expand on what we have.
DC May 18, 2016, 2:30 pm Why should all the privately owned fitness business\' in town have to compete with another TAXPAYER FUNDED ENTITY? I don\'t see any waiting lines at the rec center when I am there? Can you say socialism?
