News : VSMS students display singing, band and art talents during annual concert

The 8th grade percussion band's bucket performance was a crowd favorite at VSMS Fine Arts Night.

VS Middle School students hurried their parents across the room to show off their art work before taking to the stage or gym floor for a concert by 6th, 7th and 8th grade band and choirs.

A highlight of the evening was the 8th grade percussion band playing a song on plastic 5-gallon buckets, using drumsticks and their hands. Gabe Schmidt's older brothers joined him in accompanying choir members on the last two songs, including "Eye of the Tiger."

This is Mrs. Amy Sharar's last art show at VSMS; she is leaving Iowa to teach elementary art in Arkansas next school year.
