Preparation for construction work begins

Ground breaking for the new clinic construction at Virginia Gay will be Friday, June 10th, at 12:30 PM. The public is invited.

The total project cost is estimated to be $5.5 million. The Virginia Gay Healthcare Foundation's campaign has resulted in pledges, donations and support from the Foundation of $1.2 million.

With commencement of the project, valet parking is now available for the clinic as well as the hospital.

The first construction-related activity on the building will be removal of the lead-lined addition originally added for imaging but that eventually became the blood draw area for the lab.

The new clinic will include larger exam rooms, space for additional medical providers, expanded lab space, and improvements to patient privacy.
