Officer retreat took place from Wednesday July 27th to Friday July 29th in Clear Lake, Iowa. It was an adventure for every officer, both advisors, and their husbands. Over the three-day experience there was a lot of work that got accomplished that included adjusting the program of activities, deciding the new theme for our chapter, and getting the officers bonded for the new school year.
Along with the work, lots of fun was had. The Fleming’s brought their boat and a giant tube for the officers to try out. Scott Fleming cooked three meals a day for all 12 people that came for the retreat. Melissa Heeren planned out crafts and other activities for the officers to take part in. Some of the activities were team building ones to improve communication skills and teamwork among the officers. One of the days a pontoon was rented for a workday and some fun in the sun. After the trip the officers and advisors learned something about themselves and the others.
