Below is the Vinton Police Department activity and arrest log for the month of September, 2010.
All charges listes below are subject to review by the Benton County Attorney's Office.
Adult arrests:
Sept 1: Rusty A. Patterson, 50, of Walford, charged with driving while suspended and issued traffic citations for operation of non-registered vehicle, improper use of registration, failure to transfer title and failure to provide proof of insurance.
Sept. 1: Becky L Meyers, 41, of Shellsburg, charged with third degree theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sept. 1: Devin S. Robertson, 18, of Vinton, charged with possession of a controlled substance, and cited for possession of alcohol while under age.
Sept. 1: Autumn B. Russell, 19, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with assault causing injury and disorderly conduct.
Sept. 2: Christian. D. Ortiz, 32, of Fort Dodge, was charged with driving while barred, driving while suspended and cited for failure to have proof of insurance.
Sept. 5: Kelli A. Daughty-Gaule, 40, of Vinton, was picked up on an intrastate warrant.
Sept. 8: James P. Mahoney, 19, of Center Point, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and cited for possession of alcohol while under age.
Sept. 18: Kenneth D. Burnell, 31, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with assault causing injury.
Sept. 25: Eric Weimann, 42, of Tipton, was charged with OWI, first offense after an accident. He was also cited for a stop sign violation and failure to yield the right-of-way.
Sept. 25: Justin H. Schutterle, 25, of Vinton, was charged with domestic abuse assault.
Sept. 26: Jorge L. Galeas-Pineda, 24, of Vinton, was charged with driving while suspended.
Sept. 27: Scott T. Kirk, 50, of Vinton, was charged with OWI.
Juvenile referrals:
Aug. 23: Two 13-year-old males and a 14-year-old male were referred to Juvenile Probation for disorderly conduct/fighting.
Sept. 16: A 16-year-old male was referred to Juvenile Probation of possession of alcohol while under legal age.
Citations:
Vinton Police issued 10 citations in September. Four were for moving vehicle violations, two for non-moving violations, one for possession of alcohol while under legal age, two for allowing dogs to run at-large, and one for failure to vaccinate against rabies. Police also issued 32 written warnings, 29 for non-moving violations and three for moving violations.
Accidents: The Vinton Police Department responded to five reportable traffic accidents, resulting in the issuing of five citations.
Calls for Service: The VPD received 203 compliants/calls for service in September.
