ACT I of Benton County is pleased to announce a special cooperative event with The Old Creamery Theatre Company of Amana. On Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21, 2010, The Old Creamery will present the play Educating Rita by Willy Russell at the Vinton Country Club, as part of a dinner theatre program sponsored by ACT I.

Performing in Educating Rita will be Tom Milligan, Producing Director of the Old Creamery Theatre, and company member Deborah Kennedy. Milligan was seen recently performing the role of George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and directed the company’s current hit production of Blithe Spirit. Kennedy recently appeared with the company as Mrs. Engleson in Church Basement Ladies and currently plays the role of Ruth Condomine in Blithe Spirit.

This will be a great opportunity for local patrons to enjoy a production by The Old Creamery for a bargain price. Tickets to the event are only $22.00 per person, which includes the meal served by the Country Club staff as well as the performance. The event will begin both evenings with a social hour at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:00 and the performance at 7:00.

Reservations can be made by calling the ACT I box office at 472-9957.

Educating Rita is a heartwarming comedy about an adult college student and the relationship that develops with a professor who tutors her in English literature, as she develops a newfound personal independence.
