News : Ohlsen retires from Farm Bureau, but plans to go to college again

After retiring from FB, Frank Ohlsen plans to pursue a third career as a substance abuse counselor.

For 26 years, Frank Ohlsen has been a mentor to those who have struggled with alcohol and drug abuse issues.

Now that he is retiring from Farm Bureau, Ohlsen's main goal is to do more to help those people.

"I'm going to get some schooling," Ohlsen said Friday afternoon, during his retirement reception at the Benton County Farm Bureau office. He plans to become a certified substance abuse counselor.

Ohlsen farmed for 25 years before joining Farm Bureau 21 years ago. A scrapbook on display at the open house highlighted some of the awards Ohlsen has won during his career there. The scrapbook also shows many photos of Ohlsen's other love -- traveling.
