News : Firemen respond to dumpster fire at Kerry facility

Vinton firefighter Rick Lazenby puts out a fire in a dumpster late Thursday morning.

Vinton firefighters responded to a report of trash burning in a dumpster outside the Kerry production plant at 1501 W. D Street Thursday morning. Kerry employees tried to douse the flames with water from a garden house while waiting for firefighters to arrive.

Firemen doused the flames and also sprayed the exterior wall near the fire to keep the heat from damaging the building.
