The Virginia Gay Hospital Home Health Agency thanks the community for their continued support of the annual Angel Tree for home health patients in Benton County. For the fifth consecutive year, VGH Home Health has sponsored the project and encouraged donations for their clients in need during the holiday season. These patients, many of whom don’t have family or friends living nearby and lack the mobility or financial means to celebrate the holidays, all received something special for the holiday because of the generous support of area residents.
A gift tag is prepared for each client in need with a list of items urgently needed, but donors are welcome to make additional purchases. Suggestions for those “extras” include large print books or magazines, slippers, socks, shoes, pillow, blanket, sheets, bathrobe, pajamas, bath products, board games, belt, suspenders, sweats, shirts, calendar, and candy.
Melissa Smith, RN, BSN, Director of Home Health/Public Health expressed the agency’s gratitude by saying, “Every client on our Angel Tree list for this year received a gift plus some! Thank you to the community for their generosity with special thanks going to Revolution Church in Vinton for their continued support. They gave a large donation of fleece blankets, toiletries, and other items.”
