News : Vehicular homicide charges filed in July 2009 fatal crash

Brandon Hundley: Driver in 2009 accident was charged with vehicular homicide.

Jarin Janey: Killed in accident in July 2009.

A 21 year old Vinton man has been charged as a result of a fatality accident that occurred in Benton County on July 30, 2009.

Brandon Leo Hundley has been charged with Vehicular Homicide / Operating while Intoxicated, a class B felony. The charge is a result of an investigation into a single vehicle accident on 33rd Avenue Drive just north of 59th Street Trail which is located about 3.5 miles west of Center Point in Benton County.

Hundley was driving a 2006 Ford Ranger when he lost control on a gravel road going into the ditch striking a tree. Hundley and other passenger were transported to Cedar Rapids for their injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Jarin DeWayne Janey age 18 from rural Shellsburg, was fatally injured in the accident.
