Additional charges have been filed as a result of a search warrant that was executed by the Vinton Police Department at 604 F Avenue on August 23, 2019, following a stabbing at that residence early that same morning.
Misty Marie Meister, age 40, of Vinton, had been charged on August 23rd with Interference With Official Acts, Assault, and Criminal Mischief.
On August 28, 2019, the following additional charges were filed on Meister;
1. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, 3rd or subsequent offense (Class D Felony, section 124.401(5) of the Code of Iowa
2. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, 3rd or subsequent offense (Class D Felony), section 124.401(5) of the Code of Iowa
3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor), section 124.414 of the Code of Iowa
An arrest or criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
