Monday was a long day for those tasked with taking down the former Hardee's building. It was thought that the building would be taken down weeks ago, but with anything, there was a hold up with approval from the DNR for removal of the debris from the old building.
The building has been vacant for several years and has now been demolished removed from the site. With multiple dumpsters repeatedly filled and emptied through the process the mesmerizing part was watching the operator remove, crush, arrange the dumpsters just where he wanted them and then "stomping" on the debris with the bucket to use every inch available in the dumpster.
I'm sure many have fond memories of Hardee's, mine is probably the year the boys were involved in baseball and had to sell coupons for "sliders." With kids in the car, we pulled up and ordered 20, I probably remember that because it was a treat for our little family, of 8.
The site was the home of the former A&W before Hardee's moved in, if my childhood memories are correct, and if they aren't, well, there is a comment section to correct me below!
Here are a "few" pictures!
