I've seen the classes advertised, and heard all the ladies talk about how wonderful they are. I'd say, "Yeah, yeah and when I get time...maybe someday I'll do it."
On a fluke the other night I saw a picture that Dandeena Schadle would be teaching a class downtown at Pourville on how to paint the above picture. It had a pickup in it. I think that was the catch, I heard several people comment on the pickup. I suppose most of us grew up next to dad in a pickup so that got us right in the heartstrings.
I quickly replied, "Count me in" after I consulted my calendar which was amazingly quiet, or I accidentally ignored someting that I should have been covering.
I went. I relaxed, I painted, I had fun, and I want to do it again. I don't care if it's the same picture, I want to go back.
There's something about hearing the swish of 30 paintbrushes getting the canvas ready to paint and the silence as everyone concentrates on their project. And then the amazement of how all the pictures look the same but different.
There were even some brave men that came to the class, some may have been coerced into attending with their wives, but I think they all enjoyed it.
Dandeena also showed a picture called "Family Tree" that you can come and paint if you'd like on Thursday evening.
I held up my camera to shoot over the top of my easel trying to get as many people in the pictures. Some had attended the classes before, but there were many of us who had never attempted this before. All of us became art critiques of our work but having a great time creating our masterpiece.

Pourville has a website now where you can register for classes on their calendar. Here's a link to their site, check it out and by the way, take a class, you'll enjoy it!
