    Christopher Montgomery: Waterloo man jailed for two area vehicle thefts.

 

     A 35 year old Waterloo man is being held in the Benton County Correctional Facility after several vehicles were discovered stolen in the area.

     Christopher Domic Montgomery age 35 of Waterloo is being held on $5,000 bond after his appearance on charges in Benton County.

     Montgomery was charged after being apprehended by the Tama County Sheriff’s authorities shortly after a pickup was reported stolen northwest of Keystone in Benton County on January 7, 2011. Tama County deputies spotted the vehicle travelling on Tama county roads. Montgomery was stopped and was arrested without incident.

     Further investigation determined that the vehicle left at the scene on the rural Benton County road was also stolen from a residence near Luzerne.  Located at the residence was another stolen pickup that had been reported stolen from the Waterloo area around 4 a.m. the same date.

    Montgomery was charged with two counts of Theft in the Second Degree a class D felony, one count of Burglary in the Third Degree a class D felony, Possession of a Firearm as a Felon a class D felony, and Driving While License is Suspended or Revoked. More charges are pending in other counties along with pending charges in Benton County where mail stolen from the Keystone area was also found in two of the vehicles.
