News : Lights and Roping hung for Christmas

Lights and Roping were held on November 16th, 2019 at 9:00 am. The Vinton Shellsburg FFA Chapter and the Vinton Shellsburg NHS Chapter along with many adult volunteers were responsible for putting up holiday lights and roping for businesses around Vinton. The volunteers and members met at the Courthouse in Vinton at 9:00 am. They were given instructions by Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Fisher. Then the members were split into groups and assigned businesses to visit. The groups then went to the high school to retrieve their bundles of roping and proceeded to the businesses.

Once at the businesses the groups would read the instructions for the business. They hung the roping and secured it with wire. All of the businesses around town look great and everyone worked very hard to make this possible. After this was done, the volunteers were provided with pizza as a thank you. Overall the event went very well and we had a great turn out.
