With 17.89% of the registered voters voting in the special election on Tuesday, Andrew Elwick was elected to fill his father's vacant seat on the city council. After his father Ron's term finished last year, there were no candidates to fill the seat.
With write-in confusion and missteps in filling the seat, the council decided to hold the special election,
