This Memorial Day was like so many other events this year, there but not recognized like it should be.
The flags at the cemetery and around town however, remind us of the great sacrifice made by our local men and women. The majority of them returned to us, but some didn't. Were it not for our military service members this would not be the country that we grew up in and love.
Thank you to our military service members whom we've lost, we can never thank you enough. To their families especially those who didn't have a chance to say goodbye, thank you also. To those who have lost loved ones due to battle but home on our soil, our hearts go out to you.
This Memorial Day is a reminder of these sacrifices.
While the holiday isn't meant to recognize our living military members it is a time that we also recognize your remaining memories of lost brothers and sisters in battle, may comfort surround you.
It doesn't matter what day it is, today would have been good, but take time to visit the graves of our soldiers and say, "thanks."
