The 4th of July slipped by without a lot of fanfare for most towns, but it didn't go by unnoticed.
The Sellers and Roster Families decided to do a little something on this 4th of July, to brighten the days of many in Vinton. The families got together on a couple of golf carts and planted around 550 flags along the streets to mark Independence Day. They ran out before they could cover the whole town.
Kord Sellers said, "Vinton, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your support has made so many adventures possible for my family. The flags are yours to keep. These are a token of appreciation from my family to yours."
Two of the helpers, cousins Trace and Kara had fun helping. Kara is pictured in front of her friends house, where she left a flag in the yard for the family. Trace had a long day and fell asleep during the task. Trace is the son of Kord and Breezie Sellers, and Kara is the daughter of Kolton and Kayla Sellers.
The Sellers and Roster families operate the following businesses in town:
Rooster and the Lil' Chick Detailing
Rooster Auto
Bobbins and Boards
Get It Done
Opal and Hazel's Pizza
JTS Construction
and Kord Sellers Coldwell Banker Hedges Real Estate
Kord said, of Vinton, these businesses "wouldn't exist if it wasn't for you!"
