With close to 25 vendors in downtown Vinton, the weather cooperated with a cool breeze, but nothing of the sort from earlier this month. Residents were able to get their fix of Scratch Cupcakes, funnel cakes, and various hot meals this weekend from the food vendors downtown.

Vendors shared their wares with the community and stores provided sales to shoppers. The event was a bit smaller this year from the usual 60-75 normal number of vendors. Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, registration in April put a damper on the participants.

The local Iowa Pyrotechnic Association held its regular monthly meeting at the fairgrounds in lieu of the normal Boomtown event this year which was canceled because of social distancing requirements.

So here's wishing, to a normal "booming" 2021!
