Have you heard the stories about finding things stashed in the walls of a house only to be found during the remodeling by a new owner? Or owners removing the wallpaper to discover signatures or the date of the installation of the old paper?

One area family had heard stories about how the previous owner of their house liked to play golf, in the house. The couple purchased the house and figured that it was a fun story to have on the back burner if they needed to entertain guests, but there was really never any proof that this had indeed happened in the house.

And then Darrell and Becky Williams decided to lay new carpeting in their home this week. Ripping up the livingroom carpet they discovered that the owner had left them, "The 19th Hole."

The hole in the floor had been sealed up, but it had previously had a golf cup.

The Williamses captured a photo of the 19th Hole located in their living room floor before covering it up again with the new carpet. We aren't sure if 1-18 are in the house, but they now know where "The19th Hole" is located!

BE October 28, 2020, 9:51 am When I was a teenager, I mowed Glenn Reed's lawn during the summer months for several years. He loved to play golf and I would see the golf balls lined up and ready to putt them into the cup, and they ended up in the basement. Cup was right in the front living room. He also had several wolves that were in dog enclosures in the back yard. I always hated getting next to those wolves.
CL October 28, 2020, 4:17 pm My parents, Carl and Teresa Jessen purchased the house from Glen Reed. They discovered the 19th hole in a similar fashion when replacing flooring.
As I recall walls and doors were painted in some wild colors as well.
They loved the home and spent many happy years there. Dad died in 1995 and mom in 2004.

Editor's Note: Hey no judgment here, from the gal that grew up in a purple house in the same era!
BW November 2, 2020, 10:10 pm Cindy you are right some of the flooring was bright red while in the hall way it was trimmed in a bright red line with four oblong circles in front of the hall closet. We also find a cracked window in the living room when we purchased new windows I wondered if that was a golfing incident??
