On Friday, January 22nd, Carson Brincks and Avery Hanaway visited our chapter and led the students through various leadership and knowledge activities. Carson is a state officer, representing the northeast district of the state of Iowa. Avery is a district officer on the northeast district officer team representing the southwest sub-district of the northeast district, where our chapter is located as well. Both officers led every class of the day and facilitated many activities, workshops, and reason-based games with the students. Some of these activities included identifying FFA conferences and activities, a getting-to-know-you game, and multiple communication activities to name a few. The students had a great time and it was great to meet with our FFA leaders and interact with them while becoming better leaders and broadening our skills. A highlight of many of the students was the games, which were very fun. Christopher Fleming said exactly that. "The games were super fun and really gave us an insight to how important communication and other leadership skills are in the real world. It was also fun to just converse with the leaders in our sub-district and district and get to know them as people a little better." At the end of the class, we attempted to build the tallest cup stack in the northeast district, however, we were unable to surpass the record. Both officers had a great time with the students after talking to them at the end of the day. Overall, it was great to get together and develop our skills a little more, all while having fun!
