This year, John Deere was the choice of tractors for the Future Farmers of America Chapter of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

Four tractors were driven to town by three of the high school boys and one high school girls.

Each year the FFA members drive their tractors to school one day during FFA Week. Tractor Day is an annual tradition, one of many the FFA continues in its efforts to remind the school body and community of the importance of farming.

No one is sure when the tradition began, but it is definitely a fun event to see as these kids show off their skills behind the wheel of these large machines. It's good to see dads and moms encourage their sons and daughters to follow in their footsteps.

Thank a farmer, and support the Future Farmers of America every chance that you get!
