The Vinton Community Band records songs about moonlight for the ACT 1 production of 'Picnic.'
ACT 1 "Picnic" Director Tony Bopp wanted the sounds of a community band for the play, which opens next weekend at the Palace Theater.
So he contacted Vinton Community Band leader Judy Trygstad.
"I told him I had a lot of recordings," said Trygstad. "But he said, 'I don't want a recording; I want a community band feel.'"
So at a recent "Picnic" rehearsal, the community band members played a couple of songs, which Bopp recorded and will use as background music for the play.
