After more than 30 years as business manager for the Vinton-Shellsburg School District, Larry Stroschein will retire at the end of April. Brenda Barkdoll, who has been working in the school administration office for the past decade, will replace him.
The Vinton-Shellsburg School Board approved the personnel change during a special meeting Tuesday morning.
"We have some big shoes to fill," said Superintendent Mary Jo Hainstock. She told the board members that she believed Barkdoll is the best choice for the position because she has been working with district payroll and other business matters for years. She has also been working with Stroschein on the budget and other duties which she will assume May 1.
