The Benton County Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell ringing campaign will kick off on Monday, November 22nd this year and run through December 24th. It will be at our usual location: Vinton's Fareway Grocery Store.

Please call Julie Hansen 319-329-7119 to sign up for a time to ring the bell, whether groups or individuals. Due to COVID-19, all volunteers, masks, hand sanitizer, and rubber gloves will be available on site.

3 Ways to Donate that are contactless:

1) Financial donations can be mailed to the Salvation Army, Benton County Service Extension, 1201 C. Ave, Vinton, IA 52349.

2) Folks can also donate by the Apple/Google Pay technology displayed on-site on the kettle.

3) A website is being set up for online donations. More on that later.

The Salvation Army service extension unit in Vinton is looking to add team members. Come help us share hope with our community. We can't erase all problems, but we can help bring hope to people during difficult times. Ask us how!

Remember that 90% of the funds we raise will stay in Benton County for assistance to those in need. The citizens of Benton County are very generous. Last year we raised about $26,000.

For the current school year, Salvation Army was able to donate to our local schools calculators, zipper binders, clothing, and some gym shoes for students in need. There is also individual assistance for rent, deposits, and utility bills available during the year.

Thank you in advance for your donation! Have a blessed Thanksgiving and yes, a Merry Christmas!
