Santa visited area Vinton-Shellsburg children at the Kiwanis Christmas party on Tuesday
Santa Claus stopped in to visit with area children at Pizza Ranch at Tuesday's meeting. Once a year the Vinton Kiwanis club provides lunch to several area children and teachers as part of their Christmas Party.
Each year teachers recommend which students should meet with Santa. The teachers then compile a list of gift ideas that Santa might want to bring to the party. Santa's elves with the help of donations by the area Kiwanis members makes sure that Santa's bag is packed with gifts that the children will love and Santa's elves wrap the gifts. Joe Wehage was given the task of bringing Santa to the party.
The children were of course thrilled to see Santa and enjoyed chatting with him throughout the party.
