Vinton-Shellsburg FFA brings home Top Awards

On Saturday, March 12th, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter traveled to Decorah to compete at the District Convention. Members arrived at the school at 5:30 am to prepare for each of their competitions. Each team put in countless hours of practice and work for this day and all tried their hardest. After each team's competition members were allowed to go and watch other teams compete and cheer on their chapter members. The chapter wrapped up the day by bringing home two first-place gold awards and three second-place golds awards amongst other high placings!

Along with this, two of our Vinton-Shellsburg Chapter members Annabelle Newton and Josh Wiley were selected to be on the district officer team! A huge congratulations goes out to all of our teams that competed, for trying their hardest and for the many hours they put in. Here are the results from Saturday's competition: 

Conduct of Meeting - Sam Lundvall, Tori Elwick, Jerry Lee, Izzie Birker, Matthew Bookmeier, Rayleigh Stander, and Grayce McClintock (Silver) 

Parliamentary Procedure - Baylee Wheeler, Grace Schminke, Annabelle Newton, Christopher Fleming, Autumn McGowan, and Rachel Rollinger (1st Place Gold - Advanced to State) 

Prepared Public Speaking - Josh Wiley (2nd Gold - Advanced to State) 

Ag Sales - Andrew Pingenot (Silver) 

Experience the Action - Gracie Fish, Carlie Clark, Amber Deklotz, and Brody Water (Bronze) 

Chapter Website - Allie Geiger (Silver)
