2022 V-S PROM DANCE ITINERARY

When: Saturday, April 30, 2022

Time: 8:00pm - 11:30pm (doors open 7:45pm)

Where: Vinton Skate & Activity Center

Who: V -S Seniors & Juniors & Invited Guests

Tickets:

● $15 - VS SENIORS

● $20 - VS JUNIORS

● $20 - GUESTS of a VS Senior or Junior (including VS Sophomores or Freshmen)

Prom Public Viewing

● Saturday, April 30th 4:00pm-6:00pm

Valet Parking at Skate Center

● Post Prom has this set up

● Students need to follow the signs for pulling into the Skate Center

● Pull up to the doors UNDER the Awning and put car in PARK

● Driver and guest(s) get out at the door and enter Prom venue

● Valet attendants will park car and bring keys to the Skate Center

Entertainment/DJ: 7:45pm-11:30pm

● Center Stage Productions - Cedar Rapids IA

○ Max Johnson - DJ

○ Will be able to submit song request list 2 weeks before Prom date (watch Campus email)

○ Interactive app & URL for requesting songs (there will be a list of songs not allowed by VS Administration)

Senior & Junior Group Pictures:

**NOTE: If you want to be included in these group pictures arrive to the picture area 5 minutes ahead of time.

Schedule as follows:

● 8:45pm - Senior Girls

● 9:00pm - Senior Boys

● 9:15pm - Junior Girls

● 9:30pm - Junior Boys

Queen/King & Prom Court Introductions/Crowning:

● 10:30pm - Prom Court report to Afton Marie Photography area for Group Picture

● 10:45pm - Start Prom Court Introductions

● 11:00pm - Crowning of Prom Queen/King

● 11:10pm - Queen/King report to Afton Marie area for Picture

PROM RULES/REQUIREMENTS:

● Who can Attend 2021 VS Prom

○ V-S Seniors & Juniors

○ Guests of VS Senior or Junior (Pre-approval required if Out of School District)

■ Guests must be 9th-12th grade. No 8th graders allowed.

■ Graduated guests may attend but cannot be older than age 20 as of May 1, 2020. (Pre-approval required)

■ Out of town guests must fill out pre-approval form at the high school

● Face masks/coverings

○ Are not required for 2022

● Basic Expected Behavior

○ Rude or disruptive behavior will not be acceptable. Attendees may be subject to removal from the dance event at the discretion of Administration personnel on site

● Tickets

○ Advance ticket purchase is required at the High School (see pricing above)

○ If financial difficulties paying for admission, see Mr. Kingsbury or email Teresa Strong (email listed on letter)

○ Attendees must have tickets in hand to be admitted. NO EXCEPTIONS

○ Attendees must be listed on the student or guest list to be admitted. NO EXCEPTIONS

○ Once arriving at the Prom Dance if you leave there is no readmittance.

● Queen/King Voting & Crowning

○ Who is eligible for Prom King & Queen

■ Any Senior girl or boy

■ Homecoming King & Queen are not eligible to be nominated

○ How is voting to be done?

■ During Advisors at the dates listed below

■ Will be done electronically

Vote: Thursday, April 28th Announce: AT PROM DANCE Saturday, April 30th Publish in Vinton Today & CVDT

○ **Note: Please respect Afton's business and do not take pictures of groups or individuals while at the Afton Marie Photography booth.

For Selfies - use the Selfie Booth.

○ Will be manned by 2 Adult volunteers

○ Will have a sign up sheet for time slots

■ Time Slots every 2 minutes

■ Can use when no one is scheduled on a First Come, First Serve Basis

○ Will have cute photo props

○ Appropriate poses and pictures only

■ At the discretion of Adult volunteers running booth

■ No derogatory or crude poses

○ Decorated with black backdrop and large white frame (see sample photos)

● Refreshments (Free of Charge)

○ All refreshments will be individually packaged

○ All food must remain at the tables at all times

○ Bottled Water & Mid Continent Bottlers products available

○ Prepackaged Popcorn

This can be Junior OR Senior Parents.

● Decorating Set up

○ Need as many as possible 20+ would be great!

○ Wed, Thurs, Fri - April 27, 28, 29

■ 5pm-10pm

■ Saturday, April 30th 8am-Noonish (if needed)

● Tear Down

○ Need as many as possible

○ 8:00am SUNDAY, May 1st morning . need to be done by Noon

○ Must have Skating Rink cleared out by Noon Sunday.
