Emily is 18 and in the fall she will be attending Iowa State University, majoring in early childhood education to become a preschool teacher.

Emily is actively involved in 4-H and FFA. In FFA she has participated in several

Career Development Events with her favorite being Conduct of Meetings where she received Gold at Sub-Districts and Districts and received Silver at state. Through 4-H she has received Outstanding Senior member for her club the past two years. Emily has also participated in Choir, Show Choir, Dance Team, Track and Field, Bowling, Speech, Musical and Play.

She also loves to help anyone in any way she can. One way is by volunteering her

time at the Central Presbyterian Church. Emily also enjoys being a group leader for St. John's Lutheran Church during their Vacation Bible School in the summer.

Through 4-H she has been blessed with many opportunities to help the community. Such as collecting pop cans and donating the money to the Newhall First Responders.

Emily loves to spend a lot of her time working with her goats, her three horses Theo, Bonnie and Fancy as well as her dogs Roxi and Oakley in the summer getting them ready to show at the Benton County Fair and the Iowa State Fair.

The Benton County Fair is Emily's favorite week during the summer as it is a time to show off everyone's hard work and what they have accomplished throughout the year.
