Annabelle Newton, the daughter of Chad and Kim Newton has been crowned the Benton County Fair Queen for 2022.  Newton also has a younger sister Sophia at home. The family live outside of Vinton on a family farm.

A junior at Vinton-Shellsburg High School, she hopes to study business or physical therapy following graduation. She has been part of the Jackson Better Farmers 4-H Club for 8 years, and has exhibited swine, rabbit, and static projects during her time in the club. She has also held a variety of offices in the club. This experience also led me to be a part of the Benton County Youth Council for the last three years.

In addition to her career in 4-H, Newton is part of the track and cross country team,  receiving varsity letters each year of high school, and academic achievement awards as well.  She is also an Honor Roll student and a member of the school's National Honor Society. She's also served on the Student Senate and is heavily involved in FFA where she has served in various chapter events, service projects, and contests up to the state level.

As part of her time serving in the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter, she has been a Co-Reporter, and President, and will be returning as the chapter President for the 2022-23 school year. Her leadership will be taking her to the district level, where she is the 2022-23 Northeast District Reporter.

Newton served as the 2021 Benton County Fair Princess alongside Rylee Sash, Benton County Fair Queen for 2021.

The 2022 Benton County Fair Princess is Emily Ingalls who is the daughter of Loren and Patricia Ingalls. She has three older siblings Aaron, Tristan and Machaela. The family live outside of Van Horne.

Ingalls attends Benton Community School.
