After celebrating their prom on Saturday night, most of the Vinton-Shellsburg participants returned to the high school, food, fun and prizes awaited. Donors, volunteers and many VS parents (junior parents traditionally do most of the work) spent months raising funds, arranging food and entertainment, and soliciting donations from Iowa colleges and area businesses.

The efforts were rewarded as the gym and cafeteria remained full througout the night. One highlight of the event was a hypnotist. The games included riding bouncing inflated horses, a variety of "Minute to Win It" style games and dodgeball. Middle School art teacher Amy Sharar offered fancy wrist and hand artwork, and sketch artists drew many portraits.
