Tuesday, May 3, 2011, is National Teacher Day. Thank a teacher for making public schools great!

May 2-6 is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. For the lives they touch, we appreciate them very much.

Vinton Today has asked our Facebook followers to share some of their favorite teacher memories. Here are two of them; feel free to share your own in the comments page or on Facebook!

Gisele Warner: Leora Schuelka is the best teacher I ever had!!! I give thanks to her every day for all she taught me.
Susan Gay: Mr. Jertson, high school accounting, he always believed in me. I carried his encouragement all the way through getting my MBA.

JHco\ May 3, 2011, 9:55 pm Don Holmes (biology) and Helen Anderson (Anatomy & Physiology) did a wonderful job of making class easy and something to look forward too. They made studying for those same classes at Coe College much easier. I will always remember them.
