On Friday, March 31, 2023 our VFW and VFW Auxiliary presented Shellsburg Elementary School medals and certificates for their essay winners.We also presented Shellsburg Elementary School with a certificate of Appreciation for letting our organization come into their school to honor our Veterans and their families. Teachers also each received a certificate of appreciation. The teachers do this for us as a classroom project. All 300 students received a certificate, and some students received more than one certificate depending if they placed in more than one contest.
It was another successful year with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. This is the 10th year to hold the message contest at Cinton-Shellsburg's Elementary Schools.
