News : Bike Safety Rodeo a Success

Last Tuesday, a number of Vinton and local area youth came out with their bikes to the Vinton Recreation Center to participate in the annual Bike Safety Rodeo. Kids of all ages had the opportunity to practice their biking skills at a number of challenging stations, learned about bike safety, had their helmets checked for proper fitting and went home happy with some really cool prizes.

The Vinton Kiwanis Club, Vinton Family Medical Clinic and VPRD's 'Cans For Kids" program provided the funding for prizes at this free event. Also, once again, the University of Iowa Community Credit Union contributed to the success of this event in a huge way by providing volunteers to run the learning stations and by providing goodie bags and ID cards for the kids to take with them!
