News : A Heartfelt Thank You

After the Iowa lawmakers again said, "yes, we will continue to fund newspapers but not you independent online types" I was reminded again, that Vinton Today is pretty special.

For 13 years, this online adventure has proven to be the only real independent source of news in Benton County.

In a way, NOT receiving money from government entities, allows me the freedom to make observations out loud that other reporters don't dare to. I don't have the bosses breathing down my neck telling me what I have to write, or who I have to schmooze, or any of that.

By your continued support, you have allowed true freedom of the press, and for that I am grateful.

To my most awesome advertisers, thank you, thank you, thank you. Please, folks, these are the people that put their blood, sweat and tears into keeping Vinton and the Benton County area alive, support them with your business when you can. They are a group of some of the best of the best, the cream of the crop if you will. I am forever in their debt for their kindness.
