Vinton Public Library is again beginning its free summer reading program.
Readers of all ages will travel the globe this summer as the Vinton Public Library presents "One World, Many Stories." during their summer reading program. Children will explore places from Australia to Zimbabwe through the stories, crafts, music, dance, and entertainment. The 2011 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, 2 years through young adult. We have special programs, prizes for reading or being read to, (books must be checked out from the Vinton Public Library), contests (family and individual), story/activity times, games and lots more.
The program starts May 31st, 2011. Registration begins on May 26th. Most of the programs will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Check out calendar online for more info. The program ends July 22.
Events this year include old-fashioned Marionette puppets on June 6, a ventriloquist June 27, a bird magician June 17, and a return of animals from the Blank Park Zoo July 7.
