STATEMENT FROM THE BENTON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Benton County Board of Supervisors met today and a motion was made and passed directing the Benton County Attorney to release a statement as follows:

We wish to clarify previous actions related to the Board of health to clarify that the primary reason for the action was to reverse the 130% increase in the budget implemented by the Benton County Board of Health . And accordingly, we would ask the county attorney to prepare and release a statement.

JG October 25, 2023, 9:59 am A couple of problems with the board of supervisors excuses. 1. as common sense and past supervisor minutes (see May 2nd minutes) dictates, the budget and structure of the BOH is and was voted on by the supervisors. It should also be stated that the supervisors went against the BOH suggested and voted on plan. So they went their own route and are now blaming the BOH.. (May 1st minutes) 2. Removing a sitting board does nothing to the current budget or even future budget for that matter.. If we follow that logic, firing the county assessor will roll back the last few years of property tax gouging the property owners of this county have endured! Wait would that work?! More to come...

DE October 25, 2023, 2:30 am According to the website for the Benton County Board of Supervisors, "Budget appropriations for all areas of county government" is one of their responsibilities, so I'm unsure how the Board Of Health was able to increase their own budget by 130%. Some shady goings on at the Circle K.
