On December 22nd, it was the very first day of winter vacation for the Vinton Shellsburg school district and time for the yearly FFA Holiday Lock-In. The lock-in is one of the most fun things that the VS FFA does. It is really just a chance for the members to bond, get to know each other better, and to have some holiday fun.

The chapter started the night out with the monthly meeting, then they had a gingerbread making competition with three groups. This was a great time for the members to show their teamwork skills, artistic talents, and their patience. After the sweet success of one of the groups, everybody got the opportunity to go to the gym and wrestling room for some basketball, dodgeball, pickleball, and cornhole tournaments.

But the night was not just about fun and games, it was also a time for a lot of our contest participants to get a lot of practice in. By the end of the night into early morning most of the members were still awake, but some made themselves at home in the school by taking a quick nap in the hallway.

Overall this night had a great turnout and was a fantastic time for everyone. Thank you to all of the amazing chaperones who stayed up all night and helped make things go smoother!
