The Veterans of Foreign Wars 8884 presented Jenna Grovert with a 3rd place District 2 certificate and a check for the winner. Grovert is in 8th grade and attends Central Lutheran School in Newhall.
She also won first place in the local Voice of Democracy competition receiving that award earlier. She received a certificate and check for both contests.
Grovert is from the Shellsburg area and plans to attend the Vinton-Shellsburg High School next year.
