News : 2020 Vision group to meet July 12; winner of George Foreman grill announced

A drawing was held at the June 7th meeting of the 2020 Vision for Vinton Committee to determine the winner of the George Foreman Family Indoor Grill. The entry for Bill and Mary Hawk, 1505 C Avenue, was drawn by ECICOG representative Chad Sands. The entry was pulled from numerous entries received from Vinton residents who returned their community surveys along with an entry form.

The 2020 Vision for Vinton Committee is meeting regularly each month to develop a comprehensive plan for the future of the community. Part of the process of developing the plan involves gathering input through town meetings and surveys. A town meeting was held last month at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School. At the same time, surveys were sent out to residents with their utility bills. Over 300 surveys were returned.

The next meeting of the 2020 Vision for Vinton Committee will be held Tuesday, July 12th at 7:00 PM at the U.S. Bank Community Room located at 414 A Avenue. Regular meetings will then be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the same location. The public is welcomed to attend these meetings as continuing input from residents will constantly be sought throughout the process.
