At Tuesday's Supervisor meeting, Benton County Engineer spoke to the supervisors. Along with the budget discussion, he shared with them maps of some of the proposed road and bridge projects that the county might see over the next two years.

I have attached the maps below for drivers to consult over the next few months.

(The maps are much clearer to read if you hit the three dots to the top right of the images below and download the file to your computer, and then open it.)

DH April 16, 2024, 5:19 am It would be great if the Supervisors and Engineer would do some gravel travel and look at the condition of these gravel roads. The most traveled on roads need seal coated. You can't get rid of the deep potholes by grading loose rock over them. Just goes back to bumpy in a week. If city folk had their streets as bumpy as the county roads, I'm sure someone would get an ear full.
CH April 17, 2024, 1:40 pm I agree with the Benton County gravel road maintenance. They bring new gravel, then the maintainer comes and scraps it off the road, with a quarter of it pushed into our ditches, and just like that we only had a reprice of potholes for one day. Seems like a total waste of tax dollars. If they would leave the gravel for 2 weeks to let them settle into the holes, I think that would be worth a try. This has been our experience for the last 18 years. Gravel on gravel scraped off Merry go round.
