This year's Vinton-Shellsburg officer retreat occurred on Thursday, July 25th-Saturday, July 27th. These officers went on this trip to McGregor, Iowa, to work on their team skills and problem-solving, before working on getting to know each other before the new year started.
The officers got to do many fun things throughout the weekend such as mini golfing, go-karting, hiking, swimming, and boating on the Mississippi. All eight of these officers worked on a plan for this next FFA year, they talked over different events that are going to happen in the year such as contests, fundraisers, and things FFA members can do in the community. They also talked about different things they might want to change in community events such as Spaghetti Dinners, Volunteer Auction, and Harvest Meal to make the events even better for the people of the community.
One of the officers, Bri Dulin said, "I am going to be the Officer at Large for the upcoming year and I'm excited to see what this team can do." The team had a great adventure overall in McGregor and did not have a dull moment hanging out and becoming better friends! We are all so excited to see what this year is going to hold for the chapter and this officer team!
