For the last few years the Prairie Creek Sports Club, a division of Whitetails Unlimited, has presented a check to the Benton County Friends of 4-H. A check in the amount of $3000 was presented at the Benton County Fair.

Friends of 4-H was established in 2015 to raise funds to provide scholarships to local 4-Hers wanting to expand their 4-H experience. They are a committee under the guidance of the Benton County Extension Council. Monies donated have been used to fund CWF Citizen Washington Focus, a trip to Washington D.C. where the 4-Her spends time at the U.S Capitol where they learn hands-on about the Legislative process. The money also helps with various camps and clinics, such as Junior Camp and Equine and Beef Clinics.

Funding has also been used to support the Intermediate trip to several locations and Legislative trips to the Des Moines Capitol Complex. Friends of 4-H also contribute to the Benton County Livestock Judging and Livestock Quiz bowl Teams who have represented Benton County and Iowa at National Competitions. The group also hosts a Roller Skating Party for Benton County 4-Hers and Clover buds each fall and a Youth Barn Party each year at the Benton County Fair.

The Benton County Extension Council and the Friends of 4-H would like to thank the Prairie Creek Sports Club for their continued support of the Benton County 4-H program.
